Paula Earl-Orozco

Paula recently retired from a 30 year career in education and is a RYT 200hr Adaptive Yoga instructor, with an understanding of therapeutic application of yoga, from MelMarie Adaptive Flow Teacher Training. Paula is also a Love Your Brain certified teacher to work with special populations affected by brain injuries, concussions, and other traumatic brain accidents. Her yoga practice started after a lower back injury that left her with chronic pain and limited her high impact physical activity. Paula has always been active so when she discovered yoga it was a way for her to continue to stay fit and healthy. In time her yoga practice was instrumental in healing her back, giving her a more positive outlook on life, and an awareness to be grateful for and take care of her whole self (physical, emotional and spiritual). She decided to become a yoga instructor to help others with preventing, managing, and reversing the pain and complications that come from age related and lifestyle diseases. Overall wellness and healthy aging is her vision for herself and her students. Paula is currently teaching community Hatha, Yin, Chair and Restorative practices.

Finding Stillness, Deep Release and Overall Well-Being

In this 60 minute class you will be guided through a slow, centering practice that focuses on finding deep release and smoothing of the body’s connective tissues (fascia, ligaments and tendons) around muscles and in areas that encompass joints such as knees, hips, sacrum, shoulders and spine. This class consists of a short centering meditation that focuses on the breath and a series of long held, passive floor poses that are held for 3-5 minutes. This is a great practice for people who want to achieve flexibility, maintain healthy joints and open up energy flow in the body. Appropriate for all levels and props will be available.
