Embodied Rest is a 25 Hour immersion Yoga Nidra Certification training designed to elevate the way you guide, create and structure meditation and Yoga Nidra practices. The program is an at-your-pace video based training with the option to pair 1:1 direct coaching via Voxer with Mel and activities to foster your brilliance and craft. We go allllll in! The teachings are applicable in nourishing your craft as a guide and teacher while also emphasizing restful vitality in your personal and professional life. It blends the science, history, tools, delivery and yogic teachings to equip you in the artistry of rest. 

The skills learned from Embodied Rest can be used in a variety of settings: including counseling, massage therapy, physical therapy, social work, for medical and integrative practitioners in health care settings, yoga and mindfulness studios, resiliency programs, proactive wellness initiatives and more. This program also includes a training manual with the option to purchase for it to be mailed to you. 

Marry Eastern and Western Psycho-Spiritual perspectives that form the foundation of Yoga Nidra and what underlies these practices as a comprehensive resource for rest. Learn the evidence based research showing the efficacy of Yoga Nidra and its use while fostering professional tools to share this work with others. The training also includes many Yoga Nidra experiences to delineate the teachings in the workshops along with activities to enrich your comprehension and development. 

Though Embodied Rest is also included in our professional yoga therapy program, it is open to anyone who is passionate about Yoga Nidra, meditation and rest. It is truly a total nervous system self care immersion while equipping you with high level tools, the wider philosophical framework and innovation to have endless textures in your craft of Yoga Nidra and meditation. Once completed, you will have four years from your start date to be eligible in applying this training as credit in your Professional Yoga Therapy journey, should you decide you want to pursue your C-IAYT if you are a yoga teacher. 

Inside Embodied Rest

Foundations 

Widen your lens of meditation as a radical act of rest. Explore definitions, yogic mythology, the history of Yoga Nidra and different styles used today. Students will learn new textures to incorporate into their meditation practices, the power of conscious control of relaxation and what it means to resource rest. Students will also learn psycho-spiritual perspectives that inform Yoga Nidra practices. 

Training philosophy includes the use of the Kosha model as a template, using Yoga Nidra to pacify the Kleshas that disconnect us from our center and collaborating with Patanjali's Obstacles of Yoga to intentionally curate experiences that bring deeper harmony. We also explore the layers of the mind, brain waves and modern research of Yoga Nidra for health. 

Making It Yours 

Expand your delivery of Yoga Nidra and style palate through learning tools on the art of liminal space, self trust and creative embodiment. This section explores an integrative approach that brings to life your authentic expression of leading meditations and Yoga Nidra. Students will understand what a Yoga Nidra sequence structure entails, thorough exploration of each state of Yoga Nidra and what happens in those stages while also gleaming insight on threading Ayurvedic principles of elements and Maha Gunas into your scripts. Learn the dance of Drishti (Focus Points) and Pratyahara (Directing Sensory Input and Output) and how to leverage these inner resource for more rest and harmony. 

Continuing in Making It Yours, you will indulge in the depth of sensory awareness as Mel takes you through the process of understanding the Indriyas as it relates to Yoga Nidra. Topics include:

The closing section reviews teaching Trauma Sensitive Yoga Nidra, professional responsibilities, and how to implement into your services. We explore more evidence-based approaches that show the efficacy of Yoga Nidra and its uses. This section uncovers the student-teacher relationship, ethics, and how to work one on one with clients or deliver to groups. 

Closing the journey, Mel provides a comprehensive inquiry informed checklist to set you up for the most success in delivering an embodied practice of rest. During your journey, you will be invited to complete activities that build your own Yoga Nidra teaching library and can be used professionally in both your craft and personal resting resources.

THE MENTORED PATH

This pathway includes 24/7 access to Mel for Mentoring, Sound boarding and walking through the journey directly with her complimenting the training videos. Voxer is a walkie talkie mentoring platform allowing you complete access to going through the journey as if you are sitting one on one with Mel. You can pause videos and Voxer Mel, go through practices, action items and ask all the questions you desire. This path also includes a 1:1 graduation session with Mel at the end.

YOGA THERAPY TRAINING PATH

Embodied Rest Yoga Nidra is included in our 800 Hour Professional Yoga Therapy Program. Begin your journey to become a C-IAYT Yoga Therapist and attain your 1000 Hour teaching certification. Students may begin with Embodied Rest enrolling into the Yoga Therapy program. Our Yoga Therapy training is a 2-4 year journey in a modular structure allowing ease and access with the schedule. If you are not enrolled in our Yoga Therapy program but begin Embodied Rest, we will credit you your Embodied Rest rate from the Yoga Therapy tuition within 4 years of purchasing Embodied Rest. 

The benefit of THE MENTORED PATH with Mel is that it follows along with the training activities and gives you space to have dialogue and digest. This gives real time mentoring through Voxer which allows you to sound board, receive guidance, feedback and support during the experience. Mentoring access expires 3 months after purchasing but can be extended for two months additional access for $250.  

By having access to mentoring with Mel through Voxer, you also can receive professional guidance and support during the training to further develop your application and profession. If you purchase Embodied Rest without access to Mel and decide after purchasing that you would like access to Mel for mentoring, email mel@melmarieyoga.com to request. To add mentoring with Mel or extend your access to Mel past three months, mentoring rate is $250 for two months access.

Once you access the training, read the instructions at the top of the page, get access to your training manual and begin your journey! 

Once you complete the training, depending on which pathway you are on will determine your graduation process. Yoga Therapy students and The Embodied Guidance Path with Mel allows for 1:1 scheduling for a graduation session. Independent Study students will complete their Embodied Rest Yoga Nidra and follow instructions at graduation to submit for certification.

How long do I have access to course videos? You will have lifetime access to all course videos and materials, allowing you to revisit the content as often as needed to support your integration and practice.

Is this Yoga Alliance CEU? Yes! This training qualifies for 25 Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for registered yoga teachers seeking to deepen their knowledge and skillset.

Do you offer refunds? Due to the nature of this training and instant access to digital course materials, all sales are final, and refunds are not available. However, if you have any concerns about your experience, please reach out, and we will work with you to support your journey.

What platform is the training hosted on? The training is hosted within our website so you will not need to download or use other places to access. You will find all course videos, materials, and additional resources in an easy-to-access format.

What is required to receive my certification? To receive your 25-hour Embodied Rest Yoga Nidra certification, you must complete all course modules, engaging with the video lessons, readings, and experiential practices within one year of purchasing the course. Additionally, you will complete your own Embodied Rest Yoga Nidra experience whether it is written, live with Mel (if applicable), video or audio. These instructions come at the end of your training experience. Once all requirements are met, you will receive your official certification of completion.
