Once you enroll, Mel will set you up on Voxer to begin mentoring. Mel will mail you your supplies and meet with you 1:1 via zoom to walk you through housekeeping, booking zoom classes and resources and gems you have access to. You can begin your journey from there and then we gather as a group in January.

The experience is designed to give you both the education and the spaciousness to integrate what you're learning into your teaching, your professional goals, and your own relationship with yoga.

When our trainings moved online in 2020, we initially wondered what might be lost without everyone learning together in the same physical space. Instead, we discovered the value of greater accessibility, more personalized support, and new ways for students to integrate their education into real life. With feedback from our community, that experience shaped the hybrid model we offer today.

Students can experience the connection of our in-person training weekends while also having access to livestream participation when needed, 1:1 mentorship, and the ability to develop your craft also through remote teaching skills and workshops. Our goal is to create a person-centered learning environment where students have the time, support, and flexibility to develop their teaching competency in a way that works within their lives.

ACCESSIBILITY

Integrating Zoom throughout the program creates a more accessible training schedule, offers flexibility when needed, and provides additional opportunities to learn and integrate between in-person weekends.

PERSON CENTERED

Allows more 1:1 for trainees to develop their professional interests and have both the community in person and the ability to customize their education, weekly practice teaching, and professional implementation access.

TEACHING ONLINE

Getting comfortable with online opens up many professional opportunities and expands trainees ability beyond location or in person dependence. This expands one's skillset to foster the capacity of dynamic teaching delivery.

DEEPER INTEGRATION

Allows more access to integration sessions, practice teaching and the developmental depth to apply throughout the week in addition to immersive training weekends.

Love Notes

"I was drawn to MelMarie Yoga Academy due to her training as a Yoga Therapist and her engagement in integrative modalities (holistic services for healing). At the time I was in my master's program for Integrative Medicine and wanted to delve deeper into mind-body practices to support my future clients holistically. Evidence-based practices and science is important to me and aids how I help my clients heal chronic illness. Melissa was able to provide sound practices from research.

Most importantly, I joined a journey of personal growth, built both physical and spiritual confidence, joined a community of women that shard my values, and curated discernment in my own career on how I serve others. I graduated with my 200RYT in August of 2019 and fully recommend her Academy and services for those seeking healing opportunities outside of the traditional realm of health care.

And Melissa is a gem! I have had the opportunity to have her both as a mentor and to work beside her on projects to support our community. Her programs are genuine and approachable! She inspires more within you then you will ever expect to gain."  - Donnelle, Integrative Medicine Provider

"Teacher training has been more than acquiring skills and knowledge. The benefits that transcend skill makes sense—as Melissa says, “yoga does what yoga does,” but I was not fully prepared to receive the changes that would come to me personally in terms of my lens. How I see my clinical work, others, and myself is different. This is my favorite part. I’m willing to bet that most teacher training is transformative in many positive ways, but I am grateful to have had this experience with Melissa." -Maria, PHD, LPC

"MelMarie Yoga Academy has been the biggest blessing in my life to date. I have been wanting to earn my RYT for quite some time, but, since I am Active Duty military, I could not attend a standard school with a set schedule. Melissa, a military spouse, understood my job and equally my passion and worked with me to accomplish my goals. Not only was her understanding a blessing, but the content of her course was as well. Since adaptive yoga is different from a traditional practice, so is Melissa's course material. Yes, of course you will learn yogic history, poses, ect., but the scientific, evidence based information on the benefits of yoga and meditation was invaluable to me as a health practitioner. Melissa knows her stuff and is more than willing to not only share, but engage in intellectual discussions that I will cherish for years to come. Her passion for yoga and investment in the wellness of others is unequaled in my experience and I look forward to learning more from her." - Megan Brown

"This experience has been so positive all around. It taught me to look inside, check within myself more. I have learned to teach to a wide variety of people and am not scared to do so! I have grown so much of the last nine months. From learning more about accepting myself and others for who they are. To learn how to use yoga as a healing tool and a way to move through my emotions, feelings, pain. This has been so incredible and I am so happy I made this spontaneous decision. This was worth everything." -Kathryn, RYT 200

"I knew that going into this yoga training would help me learn a lot about myself but I didn't realize how much. I thought I was going into it to learn to give to other people to help them heal their mind body and spirit but the insight this class & melissa has given me personally has no price tag. If you truly have a yearning to explore meditation and healing the mind and body through yoga, whether you want to be a teacher or you just want to learn for yourself, i definitely recommend Melissa Aguirre. Her wisdom, patience, and love for the practice and people is far beyond her years and I can't wait to continue learning from her." -Natasha, RYT 200

"I loved the way it was set up over nine months. It really allowed for me to dive into the experience. It never felt rushed, or forced. It truly allowed for all the information to sink in and resonate into my life. I loved this experience and the knowledge that was shared and am forever grateful for that." - Ariel, RYT 200

*MelMarie Yoga is a Registered Yoga School (RYS) with Yoga Alliance. Students who successfully complete the full 200-hour training receive a 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training certificate and are eligible to apply for registration with Yoga Alliance at the RYT-200 level.
